1. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech): ( 4 Years / 8 Semesters Course for 10+2 applicants)
Globalization has beautifully integrated the world of technology. There is an ever - expanding requirement of quality human resources, who can respond to the complex requirements of this sector. The exciting journey of B Tech is for all those who are willing to enrich themselves with the vastness of technology. At JEC, the path to technological aspirations is a four year degree course. The journey begins after 10+2 / 12th passed with minimum 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories). The subjects taken together are a pass in 10+2 / 12th with the subject Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational Subject / Computer Science / Information Technology / Informatics Practices / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business studies subjects.
2. Lateral entry in Second Year (Direct Admission): (3 Years / 6 Semesters Course for Diploma or B.Sc. or D. Voc. applicants)
Lateral entry scheme is intended to admit meritorious diploma holders to the second year of the B.Tech courses to acquire a degree in engineering. JEC, a top notch college, of the northern India based at Jaipur in Rajasthan, have the provision to Lateral entry for diploma. JEC have a 10% fixed number of seats allotted for students. Students entering directly through lateral entry, complete their engineering in 3 years / 6 semesters. The exam procedure, the course and the degree everything remains the same for the applying candidates.
The interested applicants are advised to go through the eligibility criteria for lateral entry attentively, which is given below
2.1. Diploma holders can take admission in the second year as per AICTE and Rajasthan Government norms. The Government admission coordination committee fills up these seats through centralized counseling after receiving applications. The 10% seats in addition to the total intake are available in each discipline. The pre-requisite is minimum 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology from any recognized institute.
2.2. Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with mathematics as a subject.
• Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream, shall clear the subjects Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering mechanics of the First Year Engineering Programme along with the second year subjects
• Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream
2.3. Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector
2.4. In the above cases, a suitable bridge Courses, if required such as in Mathematics may be conducted.

Course plan for the B Tech (4 Years / 8 Semesters):
The whole course is divided into VIII semesters. Each semester will have six theoretical and five/six practical subjects. The first II semesters are common for all branches while new subjects will be added from III semester onwards as per one's area of specialization.
Course plan for the B Tech (3 Years / 6 Semesters) Lateral Entry:
The course is being introduced to provide an opportunity for higher studies to those candidates who have completed their Diploma in Engineering with good record and to provide more technical manpower by filling up the vacant seats from first year of various programs. The whole course is divided into VI semesters. Each semester will have six theoretical and five / six practical subjects. The students are admitted directly in third semester in the desired area of specialization. There is no difference in subjects and practicals from the 4 years / 8 Semesters and 3 years / 6 Semesters B.Tech. degree course. However, as per norms B.Sc. Stream, lateral entry students shall have to clear the subjects Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the First Year Engineering Programme along with the second year subjects. Suitable bridge courses also have to be introduced for lateral admission cases, if required, such as Mathematics.
Students have gamut of career options after completing B Tech. The ever-growing world of technology awaits them with open arms e.g. Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, Software Development and Testing, Integrated Electronics, Computer Aided Design etc. Technological advances are incomplete without the aid of marketing, sales and operation management etc. These supporting activities also offer jobs to engineering students. And of course, the enlightening path to knowledge is always open. Engineering graduates may choose to do M Tech, MBA or MS.
Today’s trend is again focusing on government jobs. For the obvious reasons CPSEs are popular among the youth. When it is a NAVRATNA PSU or a MINIRATNA PSU are concerned; Students are keen to apply for Public Sector Units (PSUs) due to good career prospects. There are 16 Navratna PSUs in India. These include Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Container Corporation of India Limited (CCIL), Engineers India Limited (EIL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), National Aluminium Company Limited (NACL), National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC), NMDC Limited (NMDC), Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLCL), Oil India Limited (Oil India), Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFCL), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (RECL), Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCIL) etc. The other notable PSUs are Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bharat Electricals Limited (BEL), Indian Railways, DRDO, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) etc. MINIRATNA PSU: The Miniratna companies in India have increased a lot in number since its establishment. The first category of Miniratna PSU includes 60 companies. And Miniratna Category II includes 18 companies. Miniratna companies in India mainly hire for the post of entry-level engineers through GATE examination to B.Tech holders.

3. Master of Technology (M.Tech) : (2 Years / 4 Semesters Course)
The M.Tech courses of the institute are approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Affiliated by Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. The minimum academic qualification for admission in M.Tech program is a pass in B.Tech / BE with 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in relevant discipline as per AICTE and Rajasthan Technical University Guidelines.

4. Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.): (3 Years / 6 Semesters Course with multiple entry and multiple exits such as Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma)
The AICTE has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) degree with multiple entry and multiple exits such as Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). The programme focuses on skill development based higher education leading to Bachelor of Vocational (B.Voc.) degree.

5. KARMA SKILL COURSES
The vocational education can be a game-changer to attain desired economic growth of the country. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of India paves the way for the transformational growth of vocational education in the country since it requires all educational institutions to integrate vocational education into their offerings. Keeping this objective in view, AICTE is initiating “Kaushal Augmentation and Restructuring Mission of AICTE” (KARMA) for all AICTE approved institutions.
Admission to KARMA Courses
* Any 10th pass and above may join such programmes. For admission to the programmes offered by the Institutions, preference will be given to the learners living in the local community.
*Institutes can admit 50% of approved intake of AICTE in respective or relevant branch. 5% seats shall be offered by every institute to PwD students under Fee waiver scheme.
* There shall be no age bar for admission under this scheme.
* Admission may be done round the year, depending on the duration of the programmes, to facilitate a steady stream of learners joining the college and moving out as trained work force to the job market.
